Master Programme in Agricultural Extension

A Department of Agricultural Extension has been established by the School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences and is hosted by the CRCE. Working closely with government, departments of Agriculture and Education, non-governmental organizations, rural communities and other rural development agencies, the Department of Agricultural Extension develops outreach programmes relevant to rural communities in the Limpopo Province. It enhances the mission of the School of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences by generating, transmitting, applying and preserving knowledge to solve problems of the society and its people.

Courses
The Department’s mandate is to develop and teach Agricultural Extension courses. It aims to improve practical skills of students and continuously revitalizes its curriculum through applied research.
Master programme is offered on full and part time bases. The part time programme uses what is termed a block system where students only attend one week every two months. After completing course work, Master students are obliged to conduct research and submit a Master thesis before graduation.
