Basic and Post-Basic Levels (National Certificates, NQF Levels 3 and 4)

This outcomes-based, distance, in-service training package is based on SAPC Unit Standards and is approved by the SA Pharmacy Council.

It is offered for the following sectors of pharmacy practice:

  • Community
  • Hospital pharmacy
  • Distribution

At Basic Level, pre-assessment takes place to identify learning gaps. Trainees work in an approved pharmacy under the direction of a trainer. They are guided by modular training manuals with activities and self-assessment sections. Assessment is performed by approved assessors after successful completion of all the course modules.

Training materials for Hospital and Community Pharmacy sectors are also available in Afrikaans.
