Back 2012 Social Worker Day‘Global Agenda for Social Work’ The School of Social Sciences gathered at the Great Tiro Hall recently to celebrate the 2012 World Social Work Day. The theme of the celebration was ‘Global agenda for Social Work’. This day is celebrated by Social workers all over the world and it marks the worldwide recognition of nearly one million professional social workers facing social issues globally. It has a critical role in the promotion of social justice and challenging inequalities in society. The School made this day notable for all first year Social Work Student by hosting an Oath Taking and Candle Light ceremonies to formally welcome them to the discipline. To commemorate the occasion, the School was also privileged to wish final year students the best as they will soon be joining the professional world of this discipline.
