EWSETA signs funding agreement with UL
The Sector Education and Training Authority (EWSETA) has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Limpopo in order to award bursaries to ten students in the Faculty of Science and Agriculture. Speaking at the Signing ceremony at the Turfloop Campus, Mr Nkanyiso Ngobese, EWSETA Chief Executive Officer, said that their organisation seeks to close the skills gap between the institutions of high learning and the workplace. He explained that they are happy to formalise their relationship with the University. “EWSETA seeks to strengthen the relationship between public institutions with employers with the aim of developing skills”, he said. The bursaries will continue for three years, pending performance review. As part of the agreement, EWSETA will fund another group of students in the next year depending on the submission made by the Faculty.
