2012 National Science Week As usual, UL Science Centre at Turfloop Campus will
host the National Science Week (NSW) from 30 July to
04 August 2012.This year’s theme is based on the
“Role of Science in Economic
Development”. The event is an initiative of the
Department of Science and Technology, and implemented by the South
African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement (SAASTA).
Science Week is celebrated nationally by different stakeholders
conducting science activities. Participants will partake in various
activities: Learner and Educator workshops; Science shows/fun
experiments; presentations; Interactive and career exhibition during
the focus week.
Schools and communities are invited to participate during this
event; and are hereby informed that there will be NO provision of
transport, accommodation and catering. Attendance is FREE and
educators are compelled to accompany their learners throughout the
visit. Prior booking is essential.
