Close-up with Grade 12 Learners: Dedicating to 67 Minutes of Mandela Day
In Finding Solutions for Africa; the University has dedicated more than 67 minutes during Mandela Month- offering extensive career guidance to learners across the Province.

Not long ago the University held a successful Winter School aimed at providing grade 12s with extra lessons that will help to improve the quality of matric results. Critical subjects like Mathematics; Physical Science; Life Sciences; Economics; Business Economics; Accounting; Geography and first additional language of English were conducted by the University’s experienced and competent educators within the School of Education. Learners attained more information than they have expected- educators ‘hit’ them with assessments weekly just to test their comprehensive understating. By the end of the three-week long programme - all who attended seemed ready to ‘face’ their final examination.

Immediately after hosting winter school; the University held a massive Open Week at the Turfloop Campus’s Anglo Platinum Multipurpose Centre, aimed at informing learners about its academic programmes. It attracted thousands of grade 12s from Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces who had the privilege to receive career and study counselling. Learners could not hide their excitement as they received detailed information regarding courses of their choices from dedicated Faculty’s academics, internal and external stakeholders. Each day was concluded with a campus tour whereby learners got the opportunity to visit some of the mostly used academic facilities such as the Library, Computer Laboratories, Disability Unit, Lecture Halls and Zoology museum. Majority of learners conceded for having touched the computer for the first time. Educators applauded the University for an exhibition well organised.
