The Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the Medunsa Campus, Professor Tshepo Gugushe, praised the choir for raising the institution’s flag high during the SATICA Eisteddfod Choir Festival. He thanked Mr Tshepo Matlala for the great results that the choir brought being under his conductorship. They managed to scoop five trophies against twenty one competing universities. They finished first in the following categories: Base Solo Category, Duet and HIV/AIDS Song. They were runners up in Mezzo Soprano and got position three in Own Choice Piece.

Matlala was more than overwhelmed as they announced the choir as one of the winners; he said that the journey to bring back the spirit of chorale has just begun. . “I strive in getting results, my mission here is to win and I plan on leading the choir to greater heights”, said Matlala
