 Call for Abstracts : 1st Annual Education Association of South Africa (EASA) Conference

The University of Limpopo School of Education in partnership with Education Association of South Africa (EASA) will host 1st Annual EASA Conference themed “The paradoxes of educational transformation in South Africa: Discourses and trends”. The conference will take place from 13 to 16 January 2019. Staff members, postgraduate and undergraduate students in education or related fields are encouraged to submit their abstracts.  
Down the years, education has always been in a state of flux. What are regarded as new innovations soon become obsolete and need to be changed. Recent debates on the transformation of curriculum demonstrate this axiom. Since the movement #FeesMustFall, the calls for the decolonisation of the curriculum have become more vigorous. Therefore, this conference aims to encouraging scholars to debate about the nature and the scope of educational transformation. 
There will be Oral paper and Poster presentations, Workshops and Round of table discussions. Presenters should prepare their abstracts on above-mentioned theme but not limited to below sub themes.

Guidelines and instructions for abstract:

  • Abstract should be 200-300 words with a clear title of presentation
  • Author/s of the paper should be clearly stated
  • Theme or Sub theme should be indicated
  • Contact details of author/s should be stated

companies that are interested to showcase their books and/or products at the EASA 2019 conference are welcome.
Please take note: Each delegate may only present a maximum of 2 papers

Post-graduate full-time student 3-day programme R3500.00
Daily rates R1700.00

Registration fee includes registration, conference material, refreshments and lunch during the day(s) of attendance, organised functions, and excludes all travelling costs, accommodation, and any other refreshments not included on the programme.

Due date for payment:                                   20 November 2018
Final date to submit proof of payment:          3 December 2018
Important information

  • Kindly complete the delegate registration form and forward it to Bronwyn or Petra Lawson at conferencepl@gmail.com. An official invoice will subsequently be e-mailed to you to confirm your successful registration.
  • Abstracts should be submitted by e-mail to Bronwyn or Petra Lawson at, email: conferencepl@gmail.com on the prescribed form attached.
  • Only abstracts submitted on the prescribed form will be accepted.

  • Delegates need to submit proof of payment on or before the due date, to ensure attendance/presentation at the conference. 
  • Notification of acceptance will be sent to the presenters within three working days after the abstract has been successfully submitted through emails.
