Dr MR Ramudzuli

Dr Marubini Reuben Ramudzuli is a Senior Lecturer in Geography and Environmental Studies, and is the current acting HOD in the department. He holds a MA in Geography from The State University of New York in Binghamton, USA; and PhD in Geography form the University of Pretoria. His interest in geographic studies revolves around the mindset of sustainability and environmental management.

Dr Ramudzuli has been in higher education for 27 odd years, having joined the then University of the North as a cartographer in July 1987, was promoted to Lecturer in 1996, and then Senior Lecturer 2014. He teaches at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, teaching almost all undergraduate courses on offer over his long tenure at the University of Limpopo. It is through his initiative that the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies moved away from offering a three-year program to a four-year program where students exit with an equivalent of an honours degree upon completion. Dr Ramudzuli is involved in individual and collaborative research projects.

The Department of geography and Environmental Studies under Ramudzuli’s leadership has achieved a notable balance between physical and human components of geography.
