On behalf of the University of Limpopo (UL) Library and Information Services (LIS) staff, I would like to warmly welcome you to the UL LIS webpage.
The UL Library is committed to providing and facilitating access to information resources and services in support of teaching, learning and research. A vast array of information is available in print, audio-visual and electronic formats.
This webpage contains information resources and services that are available to staff and students of the University. You are always encouraged to visit the UL LIS webpage through the UL website. Once in this virtual space you will be able to find and access a wide range of resources including the Library catalogue, online databases, electronic books, Institutional Repository and Ask-A-Librarian service. The webpage is accessible 24/7 from anywhere via the Internet.
It is also important to visit the Library building to experience and to find rich collections of print books, journals, sound recordings, videos and other materials not available online that you can borrow or use in the Library.
The Library has comfortable, inviting spaces conducive for both individual and collaborative study and for development of lifelong learning skills. There are personal computers for your use whilst wireless connections make it possible to use your own laptop to access the Internet and online information.
Staff, researchers and postgraduate students can use the Interlibrary loan services to obtain resources not available in our collection.
You can learn much by using the expert advisory services offered by the Library’s knowledgeable staff. Subject Librarians can provide training to improve your information literacy skills and guide you in accessing the best information for your assignments and projects. They will help you to navigate the vast amount of information available and then to locate, select and acquire the information you need. They provide a broad range of specialised information services in support of study and research in subject fields.
Librarians can be contacted by email or phone with details available on the UL Intranet, by using the Ask-A-Librarian service on this webpage, or by visiting the Library Information Desk.
The Library continuously works to develop and improve its services, collections and facilities so as to be responsive to your needs and to enable you to achieve your academic goals. Your comments, suggestions and feedback on how we can assist you better are always appreciated. Please give us your input by emailing: email@example.com, using Suggestion Boxes found on all library floors or the “Comments” option on the LIS catalogue on this webpage. We will be happy to hear from you.
We hope you’ll make the Library your partner in teaching, learning and research during your time at UL.
