NOTICE TO FIRST- ENTERING STUDENTS WITH REGARDS TO THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF APPLICATION STATUSES FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2021

A: ACCEPTANCE /ADMITTED (A)

REMOTE ONLINE REGISTRATION

  1. The applicant is successful and should prepare for registration
  2. Registration will commence on Monday, 08 March 2021 and ends on Thursday 11 March 2021. See the website for Registration Login Details (online facilities) (available during period of registration). Admitted applicants need to ensure that they register within the specified registration period. However, they are advised that, due to space constraints, registration within the specified registration period is dependent on space availability. This means that if all spaces get filled prior to the end of the registration period, registration for the specific programme will close, in other words registration will be allowed on a ‘first-login-first-serve’ basis. Therefore, being admitted for the programme does not guarantee registration for it. Registration dates are available here.
  3. All first time entering students must attend a Compulsory Virtual Orientation Programme from Friday, 12 March 2021 to Wednesday, 17 March 2021. Details will be available on the website.

FEES

    1. Information on tuition and other fees due for 2021 are available on this website.
    2. Kindly note the expected UPFRONT Fees Payable
    3. If you have a funder, request your funder to send us a promissory letter five (5) working days before registration and also inform us of your funder by sending the details of your funder to simon.mavhina@ul.ac.za or johannes.mashiyana@ul.ac.za.

UL MERIT BURSARIES

    1. Academic merit bursaries are awarded on the grounds of exceptional Grade 12 results. Please click herefor more information.

NSFAS (National Student Financial Aid Scheme)

    1. All enquiries in this regard can be made to info@nsfas.org.za or 0860 067 327.

RESIDENCE

Academic admission to the University of Limpopo does not guarantee admission to the residences. If you applied for admission to a residence, you will receive a separate letter in this regard. Only students who received residence admission letters will be requested to pay an upfront residence fee. Please visit the UL website at accomodation@ul.ac.za

DISCLAIMER

The University of Limpopo reserves the right to review the status of an applicant where an applicant did not indicate one or more of the following:

  1. Details of previous studies undertaken prior to the application.
  2. The correct matric type at the time of application.
  3. Any other relevant and correct information and documentation that could have affected the decision process in respect of the application.

The University of Limpopo reserves the right to review the status of an applicant where the University:

  1. Establishes that there is an administrative oversight. In such an instance, the University will rectify the error and communicate the change to the applicant within a reasonable timeframe.
  2. It is a punishable offence to forge this letter. The letter has been issued without alterations or erasure of any kind, and is verifiable against the University Records.

EXPIRY DATE OF ACCEPTANCE LETTER

The Acceptance/Admission letter expires at 10:00 on Wednesday 10 March 2021. This is to allow the University to process applicants on the waiting lists.

B: CONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE (BP)

You have been accepted on condition you are successful in the additional tests that will be conducted in the qualification applied for. The Faculty will contact the applicant regarding the dates, the format, and the manner in which those selection tests are to be conducted.

C: WAITING LIST (WL)

The applicant has been placed on a waiting List for the qualification applied for. The lists will be reviewed regularly during the course of registration. When a space opens up, the applicant will be notified as soon as possible.

D: NO SPACE (NS)

We are experiencing Space Constraints. As a results we cannot accept any applicant in a qualification applied for.

We will try to find an alternative qualification and in case we succeed, we will contact an applicant as early as we can. However, applicants are also encouraged to please enquire with other institutions where they offer programmes that are in line with applicants ‘performance. You might still achieve your career goals though following a different development path. We continue to wish all applicants the best of luck

E: UNSUCCESSFUL (R)

Regrettably, an applicant was unsuccessful in a qualification applied for due to NOT fulfilling the set programme requirements.

In case we find an alternative qualification, we will contact an applicant as early as we can. However, you are also encouraged to please enquire with other institutions where they offer programmes that are in line with your performance. You might still achieve your career goals though following a different development path. We continue to wish you the best of luck.
