The Department of Pharmacy has research collaboration with other universities including Rhodes University, North-West University, and Tshwane University of Technology for pharmaceutics-related projects.

In addition it has research collaboration with University of Zimbabwe for pharmacology and VLIR [Vlaamse Interuniversitaire Raad (Flemish Interuniversity Council)], Belgium on prevention, control and management of chronic diseases in rural areas, Limpopo Province.

Other research collaboration include both local and international entities such as Anova Health Institute, Capricorn District Municipality, the international ICASA project on ADHD and Substance Abuse from The Netherlands, and the European Union Pharmacoepidemiology Programme, and Nestle Nutrition Institute in Africa.
