4th Vice Chancellor Accountancy Students Top Achievers Awards

The University of Limpopo Vice-Chancellor's Accountancy Students Top Achievers Awards is supported by First National Bank (FNB) with a 5 year sponsorship agreement which commenced in 2011 to the value of R 1.5 million.

These awards have increased student competitiveness and performance resulting to increased pass and graduation rate in the School of Accountancy. For example,of the 75 students registered for the Bachelor of Accounting Science degree in 2010,36 (48%) are due to graduate in May 2014,within record time of four years. The University's pass rate average is 22% while the national average is 15%.

THE 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY LAUNCH OFTHESCHOOLOFACCOUNTANCY

For the past five years, the School of Accountancy has been a training ground for students in accountancy profession. Amongst its milestone achievements, in October 2011, University of Limpopo through SoA, became one of the historically disadvantaged universities to be accredited by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) to offer Bachelor of Accounting Science (BAccSc) degree independently. The SAICA accreditation provides the Limpopo Province and its rural students with access to quality education and an opportunity to qualify as Chartered Accountants.
