
The University of Limpopo invites applications for a hybrid short learning programme in Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation. This programme will offer students enhanced knowledge, practical skills, networking opportunities, and a recognized certificate after completion.
The topics that will be offered are as follows:
- Fundamentals: Climate Change Science, Trends and Projections
- Carbon Management
- Geospatial Technology for Precision Farming in Changing Climate
- Climate Law
- Climate Smart Technologies in Agroecosystems
- Plant Health and Climate Smart Technologies
- Climate Change Effect on Rangeland and Animal Productivity
- Socio-economic Impacts of Climate Smart Agricultural Technologies
- Climate Change Effect on Freshwater Ecosystems
- Waste and Industrial Symbiosis
- Climate Change Impacts on Human Health: Non-Communicable Diseases
Minimum requirements
Participants must have a minimum of a four-year or Honours degree or Postgraduate Diploma at NQF level 8, in any discipline.
Note: Students who are currently registered at the University of Limpopo for the 2025 academic year cannot apply.
Duration of the program
This is a 12-week program

- Former UL students who have not registered for the 2025 academic year.
- Professionals: From government, private sector, NGOs, and community organizations. Community Leaders: Interested in climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts.
