LIBRARIES

Library Services

Our students, staff, researchers and alumni have access to one of South Africa’s dynamic and ever-growing libraries

At UL, our library isn't just a space; it's a gateway to boundless knowledge and academic excellence.

Immerse yourself in a world of learning with our diverse collection, advanced facilities, and a team of dedicated experts ready to fuel your intellectual curiosity.

Information service
If you need help finding information or have any other short query consult the information desk librarian who is always available whenever the library is open for service. For more in-depth literature searches consult the relevant subject librarian during office hours (Turfloop: 07h30-00h00am; Polokwane and Mankweng Hospital Libraries: 07h45-22h00).
Lending of library materials
This is done at circulation section of the library which is the central point of most library transactions. Users may loan, return, renew and reserve library materials from the Open Shelves.
Short loans
This service is offered at the Reserve Section which houses all scarce and heavily used materials for users. Reserve materials may only be used in the Reserve study section during opening hours or may be borrowed overnight or over weekend.
Interlibrary loans
Materials which are not part of the library collection can be requested from other libraries for users. Only staff members and post graduate students can use this service.
Photocopying
The library has a photocopy room where copies of journal articles and parts of books can be made for study and research purposes. The Copyright Act must be adhered to when photocopying.
24 hour reading room
There is a study centre next to the library that is open 24 hours a day.
Ordering of library materials
This service is available to staff members who wish to recommend materials to be included in the library collection. The user is required to complete a recommendation form and submit to the library where an order will be made.

SUBJECT LIBRARIANS
