Director: Department  of Research Administration and Development

A cordial welcome to the Department of Research Administration and Development!

The Department of Research Administration and Development is a key entity at the University of Limpopo (UL), reporting directly to the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Partnerships, Professor Jesika Singh. We oversee research performance across the University, developing and implementing policies aligned with the University’s Strategic Plan (UL 2019–2023) Goal 5, aimed at improving the University’s research standing and status.

Our department is committed to accelerating professional, high-quality, and efficient research output with the aim of generating funds for the University. To achieve UL 2024–2028 Goal 5, we have commenced visits to each UL Faculty to identify the research needs of academic staff and postgraduate research students. Based on these needs, we offer a series of research training workshops.

Continuing with our mission of advancing successful researchers and supporting emerging researchers, we offer programmes such as the Doctoral Study Programme and the Research Development & Support, Incentives & Awards Programmes and Procedures.

Additionally, our Department plays a crucial role in ensuring the growth of research that aligns with national science priorities and strategic projects, including the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Agenda 2063. Through these efforts, we contribute to the broader objectives of national and continental development, fostering research that addresses critical issues and drives progress.
