Third Annual University of Limpopo Book Festival

The University of Limpopo Library and Information Services invites book authors, and publishers to participate in the 2026 Book Festival.

As part of the University’s commitment to encourage community engagement, knowledge sharing, to promote a culture of reading, this event provides both established and emerging authors and publishers a platform to showcase their work, engage with readers, connect with publishers, promote publications, share your story, establish networks and collaborations.

The 2026 Book Festival marks the third annual Festival hosted by the University of Limpopo and seeks to bring together authors, publishers, academics, students, readers and members of the broader community. The Festival will celebrate literature as a platform for knowledge creation, cultural exchange, dialogues and the promotion of social cohesion


ACTIVITIES

Participating authors and publishers will have opportunities to participate in:

 Book exhibitions
 Interaction with seasoned authors and publishers
 Book presentations
 Book signing sessions
 Book sales
 Author–reader engagements
 Networking and collaboration


ALL GENRES ARE WELCOME

We welcome publications across all genres, including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, children's literature, biographies, autobiographies, African literature, indigenous literature, academic publications, educational books, history, young adult literature, memoirs, cookbooks, travel, business, photography/art, compilations/anthologies, and other literary works.

Authors and publishers are encouraged to use this opportunity to introduce their work to new audiences and engage directly with readers.


PARTICIPATION

Authors and publishers interested in participating are requested to submit their details and information about the books they wish to showcase by 27 September 2026. Participation is subject to confirmation by the University of Limpopo Library and Information Services and available space.


COSTS

Participation is free of charge.

The University of Limpopo will not be liable for any costs incurred by authors or publishers who accept the invitation to participate in the Book Festival. Participants will be responsible for their own travel, accommodation, transportation, books and other expenses linked with their participation.
