University of Limpopo 16th Postgraduate Research Day

The Faculty of Science and Agriculture (FSA) at the University of Limpopo is pleased to invite Honours, Master’s and Doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, and researchers to participate in the 16th Postgraduate Research Day, taking place from 08–11 September 2026 at Bolivia Lodge, Polokwane. The four-day academic event will commence daily at 08:00 and will provide a vibrant platform for showcasing innovative research, fostering scholarly engagement, and strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration.

Held under the theme, “Advancing Science Through Research: Translating Innovative Interdisciplinary Research into Impactful Solutions,” this year’s Research Day celebrates excellence in postgraduate research while encouraging participants to demonstrate how scientific inquiry can address real-world challenges and contribute to sustainable development.

The annual event offers researchers across the Faculty an opportunity to present their work, exchange ideas with peers and experts, and contribute to a thriving culture of research excellence. All eligible participants are required to submit a research abstract of no more than 250 words. Honours students, excluding first-year registrations, will present their work through poster-linked speed presentations, while Master’s, Doctoral and postdoctoral researchers will deliver standard oral presentations.

The programme will conclude with a Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, recognising outstanding research presentations. Awards will be presented to the best Honours, Master’s and Doctoral presenters from each School in the Faculty in celebration of academic excellence and innovation.

Participants are encouraged to note the following important dates:

  • Abstract submission deadline: On or before 03 August 2026
  • Abstract review feedback: On or before 08 August 2026
  • Registration period: 03–10 August 2026
