University of Limpopo 16th Postgraduate Research Day

The Faculty of Science and Agriculture (FSA) at the University of Limpopo announces the hosting of its 16th Postgraduate Research Day, which will be held from September 8 to September 11, 2026. This prestigious four-day academic event will take place at the picturesque Bolivia Lodge in Polokwane, commencing daily at 08:00 AM.

This year’s Research Day is themed “Advancing Science Through Research: Translating Innovative Interdisciplinary Research into Impactful Solutions.” This theme emphasises the importance of integrating different scientific disciplines to address pressing real-world challenges while promoting sustainable development. It aims to celebrate excellence within the postgraduate community and to highlight how dedicated research efforts can lead to innovative solutions that significantly benefit society.

The event offers a vibrant platform designed for researchers from across the Faculty to present their findings, engage in critical discussions, and network with peers and leading experts.

Postgraduate students at various levels will showcase their work in different formats. Honours students, with the exception of first-year registrations, will present their research through engaging poster-linked speed presentations, allowing them to convey key aspects of their projects succinctly. Meanwhile, Master’s, Doctoral, and postdoctoral researchers will deliver their findings in standard oral presentation formats, enabling a deeper exploration of their research initiatives and methodologies.

The concluding events of the Research Day will include an elegant Gala Dinner and an Awards Ceremony that recognises outstanding contributions to research. Awards will be presented to top presenters in the Honours, Master’s, and Doctoral categories from each School within the Faculty, celebrating academic excellence, innovation, and the impactful nature of their research efforts.
