University of Limpopo 2nd Leadership & Sustainability Symposium 2026

The University of Limpopo, through the Turfloop Graduate School of Leadership (TGSL), proudly invites academics, researchers, policymakers, practitioners, students and members of the public to attend the 2nd Leadership & Sustainability Symposium 2026, taking place on 19–20 August 2026 from 08:30 to 16:00 at the Edupark Campus, Polokwane.

Held under the theme “Innovation for Climate Change Governance and Sustainable Development,” the symposium will provide a platform for meaningful dialogue on innovative approaches to strengthening climate governance, institutional capacity, and sustainable development. Building on the success of the inaugural symposium, this year’s gathering seeks to bring together thought leaders and experts to explore practical, inclusive, and evidence-based solutions to some of the world’s most pressing environmental and governance challenges.

The programme will feature keynote addresses by Prof. Fulufhelo Netswera, Acting Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Venda, and Prof. Betty C. Mubangizi, NRF Research Chair in Sustainable Rural Livelihoods at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and Editor of the African Journal of Governance and Development. Their insights will contribute to discussions on leadership, sustainability, and innovative governance for a changing world.

The University of Limpopo encourages all interested participants to be part of this important academic engagement and contribute to shaping sustainable solutions for Africa and beyond.
